Marc Marquez suffered a horrific crash in warm-up for the Indonesian GP

MotoGP rider Marc Marquez suffered a horrific accident while preparing for the Indonesian Grand Prix.

The eight-time world champion was rushed to hospital with a headache after a 20-minute high speed of 115mph.

Marquez was introduced with his Honda using the Turn 7 on the right during the closing session of the session at Mandalika International Street Circuit.

Both the passenger and the bike were sent to fly in the air, and the Spaniard slammed into his machine before landing heavily on his arm.

Marquez had climbed 15 meters in the air when he hit the goal before hitting the track.

The force of the accident caused him to slide and fall across the road before stopping.

BT Sport commentator Gavin Emmett commented after the replay: 'That is Marc Marquez's shocking accident. That is one of the highest marks I have seen in the 25 years I have been playing this game.

'He must have been 12 to 15 feet in the air for a Repsol Honda man.'

His bicycle was damaged and his mechanics had their mouths shut as they gasped in shock at the accident.

Miraculously, he was able to stand up, though he was upset, staggering, looking restless, and, depressed.

He was eventually met by paramedics who took him back to hiding before being rushed to the hospital.

He was taken to hospital for tests and the MotoGP website confirmed that he was medically unfit to enter the race after being hit hard.

Dr. Angel Charte said: 'Marc is fine. He suffered a severe concussion during the heat, which resulted in head injuries. Initially, we examined him here and then transferred him to a hospital in Lombok.

‘He did a lot of radiological tests, which he didn’t. According to the passenger and the team, and because this type of pathology requires observation between 12 and 24 hours, the passenger, team, and MotoGP medical personnel decided to declare him or her unfit. '

Marquez endured a bitter weekend in Indonesia, having been hit twice earlier during qualifying while trying to get out of Q1.

Due to the high temperatures in Mandalika, Michelin has brought a sturdy tire bag that was last used in 2018 to try to cope after experiencing problems in Indonesia’s pre-season test in 2022 tire construction.

However, the solid casing has caused major catching problems behind the number of passengers.

Honda's instability was evident throughout Indonesia over the weekend as Marquez suffered several setbacks after the session - including warming up before his major crash.

Marquez, who has won the MotoGP world championship six times, missed most of the 2020 season after breaking humor in his right arm after a fall.
